Mama Mia!
For many Caribbean women, enduring the cycle of living, loving, having a career, getting married and having children means that by a certain age we come to accept our physical flaws (stretch marks, cellulite, dark circles) and just move on. We joke among ourselves about the battle scars of motherhood and adjust to the thickening waist line that we try to cover up or wear clothing that camouflage our rolls and jiggles as we say life goes on and we have to roll with the punches.
However, there are those women who defy Mother Nature and Uncle Time, looking good in whatever they choose to wear, any day of the week. They have no ‘bad hair days’ or wardrobe malfunctions and though sometimes we secretly wished they were not always looking so fabulous, we often wonder what their secrets are for remaining forever young, fit, firm and fabulously fierce.
They are mothers, career women and committed spouses, yet their mammoth responsibilities do not prevent them from maintaining their overall physique, energy and youthful glow. BUZZZ CARIBBEAN LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE interviewed a few of these enigmatic Caribbean women NAMELY: Gospel Artist Carlene Davis-Cowan, Broadcaster Dorraine Samuels, Artiste Lady G, Soca Artiste Alison Hinds, Actress Deon Silvera, Entrepreneur Thalia Lyn, Educator Sharon Marley and Lawyer/Singer Lorna Bennett to get the inside scoop on what it takes to be fabulous at their age.
